Terms of use
The short version.
This site is run by Lion MGT LLC, trading as Lion Pro Dev. These terms cover this pre-launch website, RiffKeys accounts and progress sync, and the early-access waitlist. The RiffKeys app will have full terms, including anything about paid plans, when it launches.
The waitlist
- Joining is free and doesn't commit you to anything, including buying the app.
- Joining doesn't guarantee a place in a test group, a launch date, or any particular feature, song or price.
- You can leave at any time by emailing phil@lionprodev.com.
Your account
- You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure: anyone who can sign in to it can open your RiffKeys account.
- An account is for one person or one household. The account holder is responsible for the profiles in it.
- If you add a profile for a child, you confirm you are their parent or guardian, or have their parent's permission. Children don't get their own sign-in.
- You can delete your account at any time on the account page or in the app. We may suspend or close accounts used to abuse or attack the service, and will tell you why where we can.
Progress sync
- Sync keeps your profiles and practice history in step across your devices. It is provided as is during development: we work to keep it reliable, but don't treat it as your only copy of anything that matters.
- There are fair-use limits (for example on the number of profiles and the size and frequency of syncs) so the service stays fast for everyone. Normal practice never comes close.
- Don't send anything through sync except what the RiffKeys app produces.
What's on this site
Descriptions of RiffKeys describe a product in development and may change. Nothing here is an offer or a promise of a specific product.
Music, artists and trademarks
RiffKeys is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Metallica or any other artist, band, label or publisher. Artist names on this site describe a musical style only. We don't reproduce copyrighted melodies, lyrics or notation here.
Fair use of the site
Please don't submit other people's email addresses, automate sign-ups or sign-ins, probe the API, or try to break the site. Security findings are welcome at phil@lionprodev.com.
Privacy
What we collect and why is in the privacy notice.
Liability
The site and sync are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from using them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't legally be limited.
